The Fifth Stop: 80 Days of Walking in Shanghai – The Past and The Present of The Bund in SaiMeng Museum
In the short span of 100 years, in Shanghai occurred many battles and changes, especially during the era of domination before the People’s Republic of China was established. At that time, Shanghai was known as a paradise for adventurers, and the military and political groups from various countries, as well as literati and artists, all came here to try to create a new world. The cultures of these different regions of the world eventually gradually merged to form a unique and highly inclusive Shanghai-style Culture. During this period, many Western governments left behind architecture on the Bund, and some of the most representative British and French buildings are still in use today and have become famous attractions in Shanghai.
